Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. PDFroo processes your files inside your own browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, so your documents never leave your device and there is nothing for us to store or delete.

Why does metadata matter for SEO?

Search engines may use the PDF title as the result title. A descriptive title and subject make your PDF more clickable in search results.

What does “Remove all metadata” remove?

It clears the document information dictionary (title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, dates) and the XMP metadata stream.

Will the content change?

No. Only document properties are changed; pages remain untouched.
